When I started Flight Simulator X World, I made myself a promise - that it would be the best flight simulator website out there. Period.

   When I say "the best", I don't mean the biggest, or even the busiest - I want it to be all about quality, not quantity. The very reason I started FSXW was because I didn't see this community being served as well as I thought it could be.

   Along with the forum, the File Download Library is the most crucial part of an FS site. If that is not appealing, people will go elsewhere - and I don't blame them. The FSXW file library must be the best out there - best looking, easiet to search on, have the best files, be visually appealing, and just have an overall exciting feel to it. 

   Currently, it's not. I'll admit it. The software behind the library is a good match for the task, but it really needs to be modifed quite a bit to bring it up to the level of excellence I want it to be. That will require someone with programming experience, especially in PHP; I don't t have that. However, there are freelancers out there that do, and can craft the kind of library this community deserves. They do get a salary however, and one I'm not able to fund right now (I'm a stay-at-home father).

  Also, I would like to be able to have all shareware packages to come with their own auto-installers! That's right - each package will have a self-installer program, just like you get from the big guys!

   So this is where I'm asking you to "Chip In", using the handy widget on the home page of this website, right side. It makes it easy to donate any amount you want - though I would ask a minimum of $5, as they do take about 50 cents per donation. 

   I think I owe it to you to give you a better idea of what I am visualizing as the home page of the library. I've composed a mock-up in Photoshop, which can be seen here.

   I hope I can count on you to help the community out in this endeavor; it will serve us all very well!
