I'd like to know what subjects you'd like addressed in future tutorials. How to do ILS, FMC (Flight Management Computers), Cold starting a (Cessna 172, 747), etc!

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

Hey,
some suggestions I can think of:
-ILS landing tutorial, both in a small (cessna like) and a big aircraft (747 etc)
-How to use the Acceleration Hornet's radio's and nav equipment
-How to fly VOR-DME
just some idea's...

I would also like to see an ILS landing tutorial. One using default navigation radios and another using the GPS and autopilot. Also a tutorial that makes sense of departure and approach procedures in an uncomplicated, easy to learn way.

Wow, I better get crackin' the books! That some pretty high end stuff!
The ILS is a must - it's a fun thing for the plane to practically land itself! Once I get this display settings tutorial series done, I'm on to higher level things like ILS, if not ILS itself....

There were some I came up with, and thought I'd bounce them off you guys...
• Cold starting anything from a 172 to 747
• How to "chat" with ATC
• How to "read" landing lights
• REALLY understanding the instruments
• How to fly a glider
• Engines
• Right ways to lose altitude
• ILS, NDB, VOR...and other assorted acronyms.

-Using the trim
-Emergency landings
-Water Taxi, Takeoff and landing
and EH-101 cockpit orientation

I would like there to be a tutorial for taxiing in airport taxiways. Complete explainations of what the little different coloured signs means, and how to get from A to.... H8 or whereever, without using the yellow arrows, or follow me cars or such.
This would help getting more people to actually use the to/from gates instead of just starting on the active runway - I think.

Patrick would it be possible to have a module in the ILS tutorials on reading approach plates including a demonstration flight. I believe if the flight simulator pilot is going learn about landing using the instrument landing system they should also understand these charts. Specifically what Altitude and location the aircraft is supposed to be at to capture the localiser for a particular airport. I am new at learning the ILS so this would help. Hope this makes sense.

What do you guys think about this progression for the ILS Series?
You already know what 1 and 2 are.
3) detailed flight with a Boeing 737
4) detailed flight with Cessna 172
5) reading approach plates with a demo flight
6) how to do a VFR ILS flight.

That sounds like a logical order, but you might want to briefly mention the approach chart in the earlier lessons if you use info from a chart in order to perform the ILS of that tutorial.

Given the fact that the C172 is THE most used plane in FSX, and also for the "complexity curve" perhaps you should do the Cessna before the 737.... Just a suggestion! Other than that it looks promising!

I agree. Thing is, I've found it's actually easier to do an ILS in a commercial airliner than a 172. There's no autopilot, no approach hold, altitude hold, heading hold and so on. My thought is, to do it in a 737 first, so users can see the easiest way to do it, then to do it in a 172, where they have to be more hands on.

Not right now, no. I have several projects going on outside of this website! I really do need to make one for the Cessna 172 though...
