 I have always seen FSX as FS9, but prettier. Saying that FS9 is for the ones that want the "real thing" I have always found so wholly ignorant that it blows my mind. What's the problem people?!

There has been a big misconception in the simming community, ever since FSX came into existence. A misconception quite great, and those that have the misconception usually come across as ignorant and arrogant. The misconception is as follows: those that play FSX are gamers, and not simmers. This makes FS9 users automatically simmers, and thus FS9 users are ‘the real ones”, those that play MSFS for the right cause: emulate being a pilot. It should be clear this is bull. |

Do we all fly the same aircraft?
Go to the FSPilotshop, Simmarket, or perhaps the AVSIM store, and what you see is a large selection of aircraft add-ons. That’s nice, but there is one problem - instead of having a very wide range of aircraft, you keep seeing the same aircraft time and time again. There are a lot of aircraft out there, and I think it’s a pity we don’t see that to the same extent in our hobby. Let’s be honest, what do we see most of the time? Boeing, Airbus, Airbus, Boeing, Airbus and Boeing.
